After The Beep

Fixed!

Everything is up and running now, so enjoy!

Recent Comics

For some reason, my last two strips have not posted.  I am working on correcting this so the strips should be up soon.

It’s All A Scam!

The groundhog said that we are to have 6 more weeks of winter.  I disagree!  It is a lie!  The groundhog wants us to think there’s going to be 6 more weeks of snow and ice.  The reason?  HE WANTS THE BEACH ALL TO HIMSELF!  Well, that self-serving little rodent may be fooling some people, but not me!  I can see through the lies and deception.  That is why I have decided to wear nothing but Hawaiian shirts, shorts, and flip-flops from now on.  I am not letting some groundhog tell me when I can celebrate Spring…

Quick Sketch

I was planning on putting together a more elaborate drawing tonight, but I ran out of time.  It took me much longer than anticipated to get the strip I was working on cleaned up.  When I first started making cartoons, I did so the old fashioned way:  Pen and Paper.  For the website, I have been scanning these strips in and cleaning them up in Photoshop.  To show the evolution of the strip, I have decided to keep as much of the original art as possible, though I draw new word balloons and re-letter the strips digitally.  I may do some editing as well.  The clean up process usually does not take that long, but tonight I did more editing than usual and was left with a lot of re-drawing.  The process took a bit longer, but I am satisfied with the result.  That being said, I wanted to draw something to put on the blog tonight, so I drew a quick sketch of Hammer and colored it.  Hope you enjoy!

Correction

A special thanks to a loyal fan who pointed out a typo in today’s strip.  Rest assured, it has been corrected!

2009 and Feeling Fine

It took a whole year, but 2009 is now officially up and running.  Hopefully, all of the bugs from 2008 have been worked out so this year runs smoother.  There have been so many changes with this calendar update that is is hard not to be excited.  Or maybe I am just pumped up because last year was incredibly trying and troublesome.  Who knows.  All that matters now is that the year is young and full of promise.  In fact, 2009 already has a lot going for it.  For example, Tools, the webcomic that dreams are made of, has officially launched to much fan fair.  That already puts 2009 in the Hall of Fame for Great Years, right behind 1776 (the year our nation was born) and 1912 (the year Casimir Funk identified vitamins).  Now that is good company!  As you can see, I am pretty excited for 2009.  Honestly, it has been a long time since I have been this pumped for a new year.  The important thing to remember is that a year is only as good as you make it, and I am aiming on making 2009 a year to remember.

In order to make this year better than the last, I will have to make some improvements to better me as a person.  I know, this sounds like the typical “Resolution” speech, but I have decided against that route.  Instead of resolving to do a bunch of things that I probably will not accomplish, I have decided to make a more focused assult on self-improvement.  For example, this year, I want to make the best comics I can make.  In order to do that, I will draw more often, take an art class (if financially possible), read more, experiment with different style techniques, further streamline my writing, and keep building on the progress that I have already made.  I will also spend some of my off time creating music, reading, exercising, and relaxing to keep my mind and body refreshed.  Again, I am not resloving to do any of these things.  I AM going to do these things because I didn’t do them last year, and I see where that got me.  Besides, resolution is best left for TVs anyway.

So, another year has come to pass, but this year should be a good one.  I have a plan of attack and I am “Champing at the Bit” (thanks Brad Guigar) to get the year off and running!   I am going to do everything I can to make sure that Tools has a tremdous year as well as myself.  Happy 2009 everybody.  May your year be coated with Awesome Dust!

Welcome to Tools!

For those of you who have been searching the web tirelessly, in a quest to find that one tool-based comic that would make your life complete… Congratulations!  Your search is now over!  Welcome to Tools; a comic the chronicles the lives of the Tools that helped construct the world in which we live.  If you ever wondered what a Screwdriver did after a hard day of work, or pondered what kind of books a Hammer reads, then you are in the right place.  Even if you haven’t thought about those type of things, you should still stick around because the party won’t be the same without you.  So kick back, relax, and let the world of Tools entertain you to tears!
